Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Empowering independence through safe, stable and compassionate home support

What is SIL?

Supported Independent Living (SIL) provides daily assistance in a shared or individual living arrangement, helping participants build independence while receiving the support they need. SIL is designed for people with higher support needs who require active assistance throughout the day or overnight.

At St Francis Care, our SIL homes are guided by compassion, dignity and respect ensuring every participant feels safe, valued and supported in their daily life.

OUR SERVICE INCLUDES

  • 24/7 support from trained and caring disability support workers
  • Assistance with personal care and daily living activities
  • Medication management and health monitoring
  • Meal planning, preparation and household routines
  • Behaviour support implementation (if included in plan)
  • Development of independent living skills
  • Community access and social participation
  • Support with appointments, budgeting and personal goals
  • Structured routines for safety, stability and wellbeing

WHO IS SIL FOR?

SIL is funded by the NDIS for participants who require regular, ongoing support with daily living tasks. This may include individuals who:
